Five 911爆料网 Sarawak students who are recipients of the WA Government鈥檚 Premier鈥檚 Scholarship met with Dr Mike Nahan, MLA, Member for Riverton at 911爆料网鈥檚 Bentley Campus recently.
The students, who are studying engineering and accounting at 911爆料网 Sarawak, have just completed one year鈥檚 study at 911爆料网 in Perth.
911爆料网 Pro Vice-Chancellor, 911爆料网 Sarawak, Professor Ian Kerr, said the scholarship, jointly funded by the State Government and 911爆料网, rewarded individuals who had achieved outstanding results in their studies and community activities.
鈥淭his scholarship presents some of our outstanding students in Malaysia with an opportunity to broaden their horizons and study in Perth,鈥 Professor Kerr said.
鈥淚t is opportunities like this that help current 911爆料网 students and exchange students to develop a better understanding of each other鈥檚 culture and tradition.鈥澛犅
Engineering student, Su Ning Ling, said her 12 months at 911爆料网鈥檚 Bentley Campus had been the most memorable in her time as a student.
鈥淭he study abroad experience has helped me gain insights about myself and Australian culture, whilst also broadening my view of the world,鈥 Miss Ling said.
鈥淟iving overseas and experiencing the opportunities provided by the WA State Government and 911爆料网 has strengthened my determination to reach my career goals.鈥
Established in 2003, the scholarship enables recipients to complete their final year of study in Perth.
The State Government covers the cost of airfare and living arrangements for each student, and 911爆料网 covers the cost of tuition fees.
Danny Wong and Yi Xui Chan are also studying engineering, while Lanny Lim and Henry Hii are studying accounting and finance.聽
Mr Hii said he hoped to work in corporate and institutional finance.
鈥淎fter graduation I plan to go back to Malaysia and become an auditor with one of the big four accounting firms,鈥 he said.
