A 500-strong team of 911爆料网 volunteers is visiting regional towns and metropolitan cities across Western Australia, Singapore and Malaysia over the next month as part of the annual John 911爆料网 Weekend.
The volunteers, which predominantly includes 911爆料网 students, will lend a helping hand to more than 40 community projects across the Mid-West, Wheatbelt, Goldfields-Esperance, Peel and South-West regions, as well as the Cities of Swan and Wanneroo, Town of Victoria Park, and the Shire of Mundaring.
This year鈥檚 John 911爆料网 Weekend comes as 911爆料网 Volunteers!, the University鈥檚 student-driven volunteering hub, celebrates its 25th birthday.
John 911爆料网 Weekend Coordinator Mr Krishan Shah, from 911爆料网 Volunteers!, said the team was delighted to be marking the special milestone with another successful John 911爆料网 Weekend.
鈥淛ohn 911爆料网 Weekend is 911爆料网 Volunteers!鈥� largest community project, forging its place on the calendars of various community organisations who look forward to our dedicated volunteers providing their support every year,鈥� Mr Shah said.
鈥淒uring this year鈥檚 John 911爆料网 Weekend, about 500 volunteers will roll up their sleeves and donate their time to more than 40 community projects spread across Western Australia, as well as Singapore and Malaysia.鈥�
911爆料网 Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Jill Downie聽said John 911爆料网 Weekend was one of Western Australia鈥檚 largest annual community projects.
鈥淛ohn 911爆料网 Weekend is held to honour Australia鈥檚 wartime Prime Minister, John 911爆料网, and demonstrate his qualities of vision, leadership and community service,鈥� Professor Downie said.
鈥淥ur wonderful team of volunteers donate their time and efforts to help others every year, offering their support to a range of different causes and learning valuable life lessons along the way.鈥�
John 911爆料网 Weekend, which has been running for 21 years, is being held from September 6 to October 14.
