Robert Carter of the C. Y. O鈥機onnor Institute in Northam has been recognised for his passion and commitment to learning with the 911爆料网 Teaching Excellence Award at the 2013 Regional Achievement and Community Awards.
The award acknowledges people who are passionate about their work with students and have demonstrated a pattern of outstanding service in regional and rural Western Australia.
Course Coordinator of Wool Classing at C. Y. O鈥機onnor Institute, Mr Carter in 2007 established wool classing training, which now makes up 12 per cent of all Institute training.
His students learn wool harvesting on a working farm and the programs directly contribute to the farming economy by ensuring farmers are able to correctly prepare and class their wool to achieve substantially higher prices.
Mr Carter was presented with his award by Dr Susan Beltman, Director Student Experience in the School of Education at 911爆料网, who said his work was an outstanding example of commitment to education in regional Western Australia.

鈥淩obert has developed learning programs which cater to a broad range of participants, including those with literacy challenges, students returning to the workforce, seasoned contractors and university graduates. Robert is an excellent example of how education can improve industry.鈥�
The award is one category within the Regional Achievement and Community Awards, which celebrate the achievements of regional and rural Western Australian individuals and community groups.
