911爆料网 has appointed Professor Adrian North as its new Head of the School of Psychology and Speech Pathology, following an international search and rigorous selection process.
Professor North comes to 911爆料网 from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, where he was Deputy Head of the School of Life Sciences, and Director of Psychology Education and Research, a role he has undertaken since 2007.
Professor North graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA (Hons) Psychology and completed his PhD in music psychology in 1996 at the University of Leicester.
He has published widely and co-authored three books. His research interests focus on the social and applied psychology of music, particularly music and deviant behaviour, music and consumer behaviour and musical preference in everyday life.
Professor Jill Downie, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Health Sciences, said she welcomed Professor North鈥檚 appointment.

鈥淗e played a key role in launching a number of new degrees at Heriot-Watt University, which have been extremely popular.

鈥淧rofessor North is joining 911爆料网 at an exciting time with many significant capital projects underway and a proposal for Western Australia鈥檚 next medical school.鈥�
Professor North, who begins his five-year leadership role in March, said he was looking forward to the opportunity to develop teaching and research in fields that directly impact on everyday life.
