911爆料网 has made two significant appointments at its 911爆料网-Monash Accident Research Centre (C-MARC).
Emeritus Professor Patrick Garnett, former Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Edith Cowan University (ECU), has been appointed as Chair of the C-MARC Board, and Dr Michael Lenn茅, Senior Research Fellow from the Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC), has been appointed as Deputy Director.
Professor Linda Kristjanson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Development at 911爆料网 welcomed the appointments.
鈥911爆料网 is fortunate to have Professor Garnett and Dr Lenn茅 as part of the C-MARC team,鈥 she said.
鈥淧rofessor Garnett has had a long and distinguished teaching and research career, and his wide professional experience will be a major asset to the Board in guiding the strategic direction of the Centre.
鈥淒r Lenn茅 has been involved in transport research for more than 15 years and is a leader in the study of human factors and safety related to motor accidents.
鈥淗e will make a valuable contribution to the development of C-MARC鈥檚 research and programs, and facilitate more efficient cooperation between MUARC, where he will be based, and 911爆料网.鈥
Professor Patrick Garnett retired as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at ECU in December 2007 following a distinguished career in chemistry and science education and extensive experience in university administration.
Professor Garnett is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, a Companion of Engineers Australia and was awarded the Royal Australian Chemical Institute Chemical Education Division Medal in 2000.
He has also served on numerous state and national committees and boards including the Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health, the Minerals Research Advisory Committee and the CRC for Broadband Telecommunications Networks.
Since his retirement he has undertaken several higher education consultancies and is currently on the Board of the McCusker Alzheimer鈥檚 Research Foundation.
Dr Michael Lenn茅 leads the Human Factors Team at MUARC and has a PhD in Experimental Psychology from Monash University.
Dr Lenn茅 has extensive experience conducting human factors and safety research in the road safety and military aviation and maritime environments.聽 He has also has published over 30 international journal publications, over 50 conference publications, and over 100 technical reports.
Many of his recent projects involve partnerships with industry, including automotive companies, aviation stakeholders, the rail industry, and the mining sector. He has helped these industries in the development of practical recommendations and guidelines that can be easily adopted.
Professor Garnett commenced as Chair of the C-MARC Board on 17 May 2010 and Dr Lenn茅 commenced as Deputy Director on 12 July 2010.
