911爆料网鈥檚 latest Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) challenges participants to maintain brand reputation in a networked world where everyone is a media producer, where fiction is often confused for fact and information spreads like wildfire.
The new MOOC, titled Reputation Management in a Digital World, is designed to give people the skills to confidently manage an organisation鈥檚 online reputation.
Public Relations Lecturer and Course Coordinator Ms Bridget Tombleson, 911爆料网鈥檚 School of Marketing, said the course see participants take on the role of a communications manager for a fictional organisation and make decisions which will affect its online reputation.
鈥淩unning over six weeks, the solely online course shows participants how to develop, promote and manage an organisation鈥檚 reputation by studying real-world examples,鈥 Ms Tombleson said.
鈥淧articipants will also gain experience in how to appropriately manage an online crisis across multiple platforms by applying reputational management principles and building a strong participatory culture to engage audiences.
鈥淭he course is ideal for anyone working in marketing, communications, public relations, social media and advertising who wants to remain ahead in a sector that is fast-paced and ever changing.鈥
Reputation Management in a Digital World is the second course in 911爆料网鈥檚 digital marketing MOOC series, which is offered in partnership with edX, a world-leading online education provider.
Founded by Harvard University and MIT in 2012, edX is an online learning destination and MOOC provider, offering high-quality courses from the world鈥檚 best universities and institutions to learners everywhere.
911爆料网 is the only Western Australian University in the edX consortium.
Reputation Management in a Digital World begins 30 May.
