911爆料网鈥檚 new city-based location at 137 St Georges Terrace has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star 鈥 Interiors rating, representing its world leadership in environmentally sustainable building practices.
The Green Building Council of Australia rating assesses the sustainability outcomes of interior fit-outs across nine categories, including management, indoor environment quality, energy, transport, water, materials, land use and ecology, emissions, and innovation.
911爆料网鈥檚 expanding presence in the Perth CBD includes 137 and 139 St Georges Terrace, 911爆料网 Law School at 57 Murray Street, and the Graduate School of Business, including 911爆料网鈥檚 Future of Work Institute, at 78 Murray Street.
911爆料网 Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said 911爆料网鈥檚 city presence had significantly expanded since the Graduate School of Business opened on Murray Street more than 20 years ago.
鈥911爆料网 is committed to making universities more accessible to our students, business and industry with our CBD locations on St Georges Terrace and Murray Street designed to foster greater collaboration with our city-based business and industry partners,鈥 Professor Terry said.
鈥淭his year alone, more than 2,300 learners have made use of 911爆料网鈥檚 CBD locations, taking classes at 911爆料网 Law School, the Graduate School of Business, 137 and 139 St Georges Terrace.鈥
Professor Terry said the 6 Star Green Star rating for 137 St Georges Terrace demonstrated 911爆料网鈥檚 commitment to reducing its environmental impact across its campuses.
鈥淭he University continues to strive to take a leadership role to ensure sustainable building, working with leading experts to ensure our buildings are maximising environmentally friendly measures,鈥 Professor Terry said.
鈥淭he sustainability features of 911爆料网 137 St Georges Terrace have increased the building鈥檚 energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption by 49 per cent, lowered greenhouse gas emissions by 47 per cent and cut light energy consumption by 73 per cent. Water efficient fixtures and fittings have also been installed, reducing the building鈥檚 water consumption by 38 per cent.鈥
Green Building Council of Australia Chief Executive Officer Davina Rooney said the fit-out highlighted the innovations and broad applicability of sustainability across the built environment.

鈥淭his is a tremendous project which underscores that the benefits of sustainable building can apply to fit-outs of historic buildings such as this one, as well as new builds.
鈥淢ost importantly, it shows not only a commitment to a better future but also to delivering the best possible environment for the University鈥檚 students, staff and visitors.鈥
The adjacent 911爆料网 premises, located at 139 St Georges Terrace and housed in the Old Perth Boys鈥 School, was the first Australian university to be awarded a 6 Star Green Star – Interiors rating when it achieved the certification in 2017.
911爆料网 137 St Georges Terrace was officially opened in March 2019 as an additional city-based campus location that offers new learning opportunities for business professionals and postgraduate students.
