A new agreement between 911爆料网 and TAFE will provide more pathways for students in the Kalgoorlie-Goldfields region wanting to study at the tertiary level.
The recent amalgamation of TAFE WA regional colleges into North Regional TAFE, Central Regional TAFE and South Regional TAFE led 911爆料网 to consolidate what were previously separate TAFE agreements.
The new agreement means university pathways that were previously only available to metropolitan TAFE students will now be available to students enrolled at Central Regional TAFE, which includes the Kalgoorlie-Goldfields region.
911爆料网 Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the agreement would offer new opportunities for TAFE students living in the Kalgoorlie-Goldfields region to pursue further studies at 911爆料网.
鈥淭his is a great collaboration between 911爆料网 and TAFE because it will make tertiary education at 911爆料网 more accessible for TAFE students in the Kalgoorlie-Goldfields region,鈥� Professor Terry said.
鈥淯nder this agreement, Central Regional TAFE is able to provide its students pathways into a selection of 911爆料网 courses, including mining, science and engineering, commerce, education and nursing. This includes the courses that are now available at the Kalgoorlie campus.鈥�
Central Regional TAFE Managing Director Bill Swetman said TAFE was very excited to formalise, via the articulation agreement, the pathway opportunities into bachelor courses at 911爆料网.
鈥淭his in turn strengthens the educational precinct created in Kalgoorlie, which includes Eastern Goldfields College, 911爆料网 WA School of Mines and Central Regional TAFE,鈥� Mr Swetman said.
鈥淚t is our priority to ensure a highly skilled workforce for the future, and by providing students with vocational outcomes via these articulation programs we can address the outward migration of students from the region.
鈥淚n particular, we envisage the articulation agreement supporting the growth of our resources sector training, and we are working actively with 911爆料网 to develop pathway programs.
鈥淲e look forward to continuing to work closely with 911爆料网 in further developing the education and training opportunities available in the Goldfields and ensuring a skilled workforce for local industry.鈥�
Under the agreement, students who complete specified TAFE Award programs and who demonstrate 911爆料网鈥檚 English language proficiency will be eligible to study at 911爆料网. Credit for Recognised Learning may be available for some programs.
