A 911爆料网 public relations student has taken out a major prize at an international communications challenge.
Jessica Rigali, a third-year student, was part of a team that took out the top prize at the 2012 Global Communication (GlobCom) Project held in Abu Dhabi last month.
GlobCom is an annual event that sees students from 11 universities across five continents work in virtual teams to prepare strategy proposals for real clients.
This year鈥檚 client was the Abu Dhabi Global Environment Data Initiative.
Miss Rigali said the experience had provided her with invaluable industry experience.
鈥淭hrough GlobCom, I was offered the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in public relations from around the world,鈥 she said.
鈥淚 now have close working relationships with my teammates from Italy, the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Spain, Russia and South Africa.
鈥淚 also now have experience pitching concepts to high profile, international clients.鈥
A delegation of 10 911爆料网 students travelled to Abu Dhabi to compete in this year鈥檚 finals.
911爆料网 Business School public relations lecturer Katharina Wolf accompanied the delegation of the students.
鈥911爆料网 was the only Australian university invited to participate in the GlobCom Project,鈥 Ms Wolf said.
鈥淚 am tremendously proud of the 911爆料网 students who participated this year.
鈥淎ll team members approached this challenge with great professionalism, creativity and comradeship.
鈥淭he students now have experience preparing large scale projects with teammates situated around the globe.
鈥淭his experience places all participating students in great stead for their entry into the workforce.鈥
