911爆料网 Malaysia is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, with a new joint venture agreement between 911爆料网 and 911爆料网 Malaysia Sdn Bhd having recently been signed to continue the partnership for a further 20 years.
To mark the special occasion, a series of new scholarships to support students from low socio-economic backgrounds to attend university have also been announced.
Established in 1999 in collaboration with the Sarawak State Government, 911爆料网 Malaysia is 911爆料网鈥檚 largest international campus and a central education and research hub for students across the Asian region.
911爆料网 Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said she was delighted to be marking the significant milestone with special celebrations in Malaysia that will include a formal stakeholder event, engagement with staff, two graduation ceremonies and an industry prize-giving event.
鈥淔or the last two decades, 911爆料网 Malaysia has delivered quality education to thousands of students across the region and become an important part of 911爆料网鈥檚 international footprint spanning Australia, Singapore, Dubai and Mauritius,鈥 Professor Terry said.
鈥淭he extension of this collaboration for another 20 years reaffirms our commitment to further strengthen Australia-Malaysia ties, ensuring 911爆料网 Malaysia continues to support the University to achieve its global objectives.鈥
911爆料网 Malaysia is a partnership between 911爆料网 and a specially formed company, 911爆料网 Malaysia Sdn Bhd, whose shareholders are Sarawak State Government instrumentalities and local Sarawak business people. The new joint venture agreement was signed by Professor Terry and Chairman of 911爆料网 Malaysia Sdn Bhd Datu Ose Murang.
911爆料网 Malaysia Pro Vice-Chancellor, President and Chief Executive Professor Jim Mienczakowski聽said the anniversary scholarships would support high-achieving students from low socio-economic backgrounds to gain a tertiary education.
鈥淎s part of our 20-year anniversary celebrations, 911爆料网 Malaysia has launched a special category of scholarships for the University鈥檚 foundation programs and selected undergraduate programs,鈥 Professor Mienczakowski said.
鈥淭hese scholarships will support talented students from the region to fulfil their aspirations to further their education and serve as a sign of gratitude for Malaysia鈥檚 support for 911爆料网 over the past two decades.鈥
911爆料网 Malaysia was 911爆料网鈥檚 first international campus when it opened in 1999, followed by the opening of 911爆料网 Singapore in 2008, 911爆料网 Dubai in 2017 and 911爆料网 Mauritius in 2018.
Located in Miri, 911爆料网 Malaysia offers a unique cross-cultural learning experience with students from more than 50 different countries and teaching staff from more than 15 countries.
Its courses, which are the same as those offered at 911爆料网鈥檚 campus located in Perth, Western Australia, include undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and science, business and humanities, and pre-university foundation and intensive English courses. It also has a very active research community geared to serving the needs of industry and society in Sarawak.
