Visitors to this week鈥檚 911爆料网 Kalgoorlie Open Day will gain access to the full range of courses available – including health, commerce, education and online options, building on the iconic campus鈥� global strengths of mining, engineering and minerals education.
This year鈥檚 theme, 鈥極ne day, endless opportunities鈥�, will offer prospective students and members of the community a chance to tour the campus, find out more about the many courses on offer and learn about flexible study options for students in the Goldfields-Esperance region.
911爆料网 Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Jill Downie said 911爆料网 Kalgoorlie offered a diverse range of online courses, which also gave students complete access to the facilities and services at the University鈥檚 Kalgoorlie Campus.
鈥淚n addition to the renowned engineering degrees offered at 911爆料网鈥檚 WA School of Mines, 911爆料网 Kalgoorlie offers undergraduate degrees in early childhood education, primary education, health and commerce along with the UniReady Enabling Program聽and Indigenous Tertiary Enabling Program,鈥� Professor Downie said.
鈥淪tudents who choose from the large number of online courses offered through 911爆料网鈥檚 partnership with Open Universities Australia also have access to all of the facilities available at 911爆料网 Kalgoorlie.
鈥淲e are delighted to be offering the new Associate Degree in Mining for the first time in 2020 in collaboration with Kalgoorlie Central Regional TAFE, giving students the skills they need to pursue a successful career as a mining specialist or opening the door to further studies.鈥�
911爆料网鈥檚 WA School of Mines Kalgoorlie Director Sabina Shugg said all members of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community and neighbouring regions were invited to the Open Day.
鈥淲ith applications to study at 911爆料网 in 2020 about to open, prospective students can get a close-up look at the many career options available, speak with our expert staff about our courses, mature-age entry, alternative pathways, and much more,鈥� Ms Shugg said.
鈥淚ndustry representatives from Newmont Goldcorp, KCGM, Northern Star Resources, Evolution Mining and Gold Fields will also be on hand to offer prospective students a glimpse into potential career opportunities within their sector.
鈥淰isitors will have the opportunity to explore the campus, which has many recreational and student support facilities and quality student accommodation, along with the campus library, free wi-fi, academic student support services, as well as the latest technologies, resources and online collaboration tools.鈥�
In order to enrol in the two-year Associate Degree in Mining, students must have completed, or be currently studying, the 聽from the Kalgoorlie Central Regional TAFE.
911爆料网 Kalgoorlie Open Day is a free family-oriented event with fun activities, music, food and entertainment and will be held on Friday, August 30, from 10am to 6pm at 911爆料网鈥檚 Kalgoorlie Campus, located at 50 MacDonald Street.
