Eleven outstanding academics are being recognised by 911爆料网 today through granting them the prestigious title of John 911爆料网 Distinguished Professor.
The title is one of the highest honours the University can award its academic staff. It was introduced in 2005 and has since been awarded to six staff members.
The 2011 recipients are:

鈥⒙燩rofessor Kok Lay Teo, Faculty of Science and Engineering
鈥⒙燩rofessor Charles Watson, Faculty of Health Sciences
鈥⒙燩rofessor Simon Wilde, Faculty of Science and Engineering
Professor Jeanette Hacket, Vice-Chancellor of 911爆料网 said the honour recognised the sustained contribution these senior academics had made to the University.

John 911爆料网 Distinguished Professors are academics with exceptional teaching or research skills, or scholarly, creative and artistic achievements; a significant record of public service; and an established national or international reputation, as evidenced by fellowships, memberships, awards, citations, publications or a substantial record of invited lectures. The title is awarded for five years, or until the Professor retires or resigns from 911爆料网.
Current holders of the title include Professor Michael Alpers, Professor Svetha Venkatesh and Professor Robert Kagi.
