In聽a public lecture at 911爆料网 on 14 February, Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd reflected on the official national apology he delivered to the Stolen Generation in 2008. He discussed the progress made over the last decade to close the gap and what can be done to complete the nation鈥檚 reconciliation journey.
He reinforced that the apology was essential for Australia鈥檚 First Peoples, but also for the nation as a whole, because the events and actions that led to the apology are all part of our nation鈥檚 story.
鈥淚f you鈥檙e going to harvest the good in our national narrative from our nation鈥檚 past, then let us have the guts, or at least the intellectual honesty, to equally harvest the bad鈥�, he said.
