Petroleum engineering students at 911爆料网 will have access to a global software application thanks to a multi-million dollar donation from Petroleum Experts Ltd.

The Integrated Production Modelling (IPM) suite, worth more than $2.3 million, includes the petroleum production modelling and field management tools PROSPER, GAP, PVTP, MBAL, REVEAL and RESOLVE.

Run together, the tools allow engineers to design complete field models of reservoir tanks, wells and surface gathering systems.

The IPM suite is used by the majority of oil and gas exploration and production companies and will help students to develop vital, industry-standard software operation skills.

Associate Professor Mofazzal Hossain from 911爆料网鈥檚 Department of Petroleum Engineering says the software will serve as an efficient tool for teaching and research in areas associated with petroleum reservoir and production engineering.

鈥淭his program will provide students with the opportunity to experience industry-practiced production modelling software,鈥 says Associate Professor Hossain.

鈥淭he software has the potential to advance students鈥 understanding of design, analysis and optimisation of petroleum production systems 鈥 specifically in the Petroleum Production Technology unit.鈥

Petroleum engineering students will be able to take advantage of the software from August 2015.
