Accessing 911±¬ÁÏÍø drives and systems using VPN
While studying at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, you may need to access some 911±¬ÁÏÍø systems from outside the 911±¬ÁÏÍø network (i.e. off-campus). Some systems, like Student OASIS, work outside the 911±¬ÁÏÍø network seamlessly. However, some systems, such as accessing your iDrive, or databases, need you to be within the 911±¬ÁÏÍø network to start.
The Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows you to be within 911±¬ÁÏÍø’s network. To use a VPN you do not need to install another phone line or ADSL connection. Rather, you will need the following:
- A PC or Mac computer off-campus,
- An internet connection to your off-campus computer, and
- A copy of the 911±¬ÁÏÍø VPN software to install on your off-campus computer
How to find the instructions for downloading and setting up the VPN software:
- Log into Oasis
- Access the SupportU Hub, located under Useful links in the My Studies tab
- Search for the instructions by typing VPN in the search bar
- The knowledge articles for installation of Mac and Windows compatible VPN software are both available
