Dear students,

I write with an important update on the encampment at our Bentley campus. After many weeks of discussion and engagement, the 911爆料网 Student Guild has agreed to end its presence at the encampment.

Shortly, the University will post the following statement on our 911爆料网 Media Release webpage.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our dedicated Safer Community team members who have gone above and beyond to maintain the safety and wellbeing of our 911爆料网 community. I would also like to acknowledge the patience and understanding of our staff and students during this challenging time.

While today’s development is a significant step forward, further challenges may still lie ahead as not all protestors are part of the Student Guild. I again encourage anyone in need of support to reach out to our services:

911爆料网 Protest Update

911爆料网 leadership and Student Guild representatives have reached an agreement for the Guild to end its presence and logistical support of the encampment at 911爆料网’s Bentley campus.

The agreement is consistent with 911爆料网’s values, governance structures and State and Federal laws. Key elements include reconfirming 911爆料网’s commitment to being inclusive of students of all faiths and ethnicities, tangible actions to increase transparency around how we uphold international humanitarian law and new training initiatives to improve disclosure to research students of funding sources. We have been consistently clear that 911爆料网 has no direct or indirect investments in manufacturers of weapons of war.

We have also made public the University’s statement.

In turn, the Guild will move now to end the encampment and has reiterated its commitment to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all students.

911爆料网 values freedom of speech and has respected the rights of students to peacefully and lawfully protest since the encampment began on 7 May. We have worked hard across many University functions to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our 911爆料网 community.

We have approached recent discussions with a deep respect for our students’ concerns. 911爆料网 and the Guild have a proud history of working in partnership to achieve positive outcomes for our students and we look forward to continuing this into the future.
