  {"id":19788,"date":"2021-10-19T21:00:40","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T13:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/door-to-new-era-of-on-campus-living-opens-at-curtin\/"},"modified":"2022-12-06T09:27:02","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T01:27:02","slug":"door-to-new-era-of-on-campus-living-opens-at-curtin","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/door-to-new-era-of-on-campus-living-opens-at-curtin\/","title":{"rendered":"Door to new era of on-campus living opens at 911爆料网"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Applications will soon be open for students to live at 911爆料网\u2019s new on-campus accommodation from next year, marking a new era of Australian on-campus living for students.<\/p>\n<p>Almost 1000 new beds will be available at two purpose-built student offerings, located in 911爆料网\u2019s industry-connected innovation precinct called Exchange, with the University offering special launch incentives for the inaugural cohort of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The new accommodation offers a diverse range of options for students from the fully catered offerings at the 407-room St Catherine\u2019s College to the self-catered options in UniLodge\u2019s new 10-storey, 517-bed Hall of Residence, known as Twin Dolphin Hall.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_67284\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-67284\" style=\"width: 336px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-67284 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/St-Catherines-College-Premium-Studio_RESIZED-FOR-WEB.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"336\" height=\"189\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-67284\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">St Catherine&#8217;s College&#8217;s Premium Studio at 911爆料网&#8217;s Exchange precinct.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Both residences are located within 911爆料网\u2019s Exchange precinct, which also features the Nesuto 911爆料网 60-room boutique hotel, 38 self-contained Zamia Apartments and will include a grocery store as well as a range of food and beverage outlets.<\/p>\n<p>911爆料网 students who are admitted to St Catherine\u2019s College in 2022 will receive the <em>911爆料网 Award<\/em> of $7,500 to be used towards their residential fees.<\/p>\n<p>All students living at UniLodge accommodation next year will each receive the <em>911爆料网 Bonus <\/em>of a 50 per cent reduction in the weekly room rent.<\/p>\n<p>Rural, regional, remote, interstate and 911爆料网 Medical School students will be guaranteed a place in either St Catherine\u2019s College or the other on-campus UniLodge accommodation. Metropolitan and international students will also be welcomed to enrich their education by living on campus.<\/p>\n<p>911爆料网 Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne said the new residences offered students a life-changing investment in their future, with international research confirming the value of on-campus student living.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAcross the globe, the research consistently shows that students who choose to live on campus achieve better grades, are more likely to continue with their studies, feel more connected and generally happier than their peers who either rent or live at home,\u201d Professor Hayne said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen students are actually living in their learning community, studies show they do substantially better.
