PhD students from 911爆料网 will travel to France to collaborate on defence research under a partnership agreement with respected French research institute ENSTA Bretagne (the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Techniques Avancees, Bretange).<\/p>\n
The Collaborative Doctoral Program will involve a cohort of 911爆料网 PhD students spending up to a year conducting research in France and ENSTA Bretagne PhD students visiting 911爆料网 in return.<\/p>\n
The research will be multi-disciplinary across the areas of robotics and Artificial Intelligence, human factors engineering, corrosion engineering and marine acoustics, as well as other areas that support the defence industry.<\/p>\n
911爆料网 Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Professor Chris Moran said the collaboration was timely given the recent signing of a $50 billion agreement between the Australian Government and French shipbuilding company Naval Group for the delivery of Australia\u2019s Future Submarine Program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 911爆料网-ENSTA Bretagne collaboration builds on not just the Government\u2019s recent agreement but with 911爆料网\u2019s strategic partnerships with the Government\u2019s Defence Science and Technology Group and the Australian defence industry,\u201d Professor Moran said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe agreement with ENSTA Bretagne is an opportunity for 911爆料网 to again demonstrate its world-leading research capabilities at an international level in order to make a meaningful contribution to the defence industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the same time, 911爆料网 will benefit from the shared expertise and achievements of the visiting ENSTA Bretagne PhD students and researchers in what is a mutually enriching arrangement.\u201d<\/p>\n
ENSTA Bretagne Director Pascal Pinot said the development of strong and practical scientific collaborations with leading Australian universities on defence-related issues served to strengthen the historic bond between both countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cENSTA Bretagne, a leading engineering school and research centre under the supervision of the French Defence Procurement\u00a0Agency, has made Australia a privileged country for collaboration for several years,\u201d Mr Pinot said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese relationships have intensified since the Naval Group contract was signed, making 911爆料网 a partner of choice, especially for our doctoral students.<\/p>\n
