911爆料网 has welcomed the appointment of Associate Professor Dr Eileen Webb, from the 911爆料网 Law School, to the Law Reform Commission of WA.<\/p>\n
Dr Webb, the Director of the Consumer Law and Small Business Law Discipline, is one of three part-time members appointed to the Commission, which makes recommendations for the reform of areas of law referred to it by the Attorney-General.<\/p>\n
Professor Paul Fairall, the Foundation Dean and Head of School of the 911爆料网 Law School in the 911爆料网 Business School, congratulated Dr Webb on her appointment to the Commission.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am delighted that Dr Webb has been appointed to the Law Reform Commission of WA given her extensive experience in real property law, particularly housing and tenancy law, competition and consumer law, including small business law, and elder law,\u201d Professor Fairall said.<\/p>\n
\u201cDr Webb\u2019s appointment is a significant achievement for the 911爆料网 Law School and demonstrates the calibre of our staff who act as teachers, mentors and research fellows, offering the next generation of legal professionals a valuable insight into a legal career.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dr Webb said she was honoured to be appointed to the Law Reform Commission of WA, especially considering the synergies law reform had with the way law students learn at 911爆料网.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe challenge our students not to simply accept the existing law but to build on a solid theoretical and practical foundation to analyse and critique the law,\u201d Dr Webb said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs former High Court Justice Michael Kirby noted with regard to law reform, lawyers need to \u2018assume a responsibility for regularly modernising, clarifying, simplifying and rationalising the content of the law\u2019. This is our mission at 911爆料网 Law School and I look forward to helping shape the discussion around law reform issues in this State.\u201d<\/p>\n
