(CV!) has won the Citizenship Group Award at the recent WA Youth Awards for the outstanding help and support it has provided to the community.<\/p>\n<p>CV! is Australia&#8217;s largest not-for-profit student run volunteer organisation and has been successfully operating out of 911爆料网 of Technology for the past 14 years.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron Wright, President of CV!, said that winning the Award was very exciting for both himself and the team of dedicated volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Awards ceremony was a fantastic night and full credit goes to the extraordinary team that is responsible for running CV!. They are the driving force behind the positive impact the organisation continues to have on the community,&#8221; Cameron said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Winning this award was definitely a humbling experience. Seeing the wide variety of activities that the finalists were involved in was an inspirational experience and made us realise that no matter how much your organisation is doing, there is always more that can be done.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Professor Jeanette Hacket, 911爆料网&#8217;s Vice-Chancellor has offered her congratulations to 911爆料网 Volunteers! on behalf of the entire University.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;911爆料网 sees itself as a University of service and the success of 911爆料网 Volunteers! as recognised by this prestigious award is an excellent acknowledgement of this,&#8221; Professor Hacket said.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most significant annual events CV! organises is the John 911爆料网 Weekend, where on average more than 350 volunteers take part in a multitude of community service projects across regional and metropolitan WA.<\/p>\n<p>John 911爆料网 Weekend is WA&#8217;s largest annual community project where the activities undertaken honour Australia&#8217;s wartime Prime Minister John 911爆料网 by celebrating his qualities of vision, leadership and community service.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The project brings together people who are diverse in age, race, nationality, religion, life experience and political persuasions to work on community projects, and it&#8217;s wonderful to see them having a great time while achieving a common goal,&#8221; Cameron said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Not only will they work with local community groups on a number of worthwhile projects, they will get to experience country hospitality and learn what rural communities are all about.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Some of the other projects CV! organise include sending volunteers to Laverton to help preserve local wetland around the Swan River, preserving coastal dune systems in Margaret River, working with more than 20 community organisations including Anglicare and the Boronia Pre-release Centre for Women.<\/p>\n<p>Note to Editor:  Photo can be organised on request.<\/p>\n<p>Contacts:  Monique Billstein; Public Relations; 911爆料网; 08 9266 3353; 0401 103 018; M.Billstein@curtin.edu.au<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>911爆料网 Volunteers!
