911爆料网 and Telethon Kids Institute will work together as part of a new agreement focused on enhancing children鈥檚 health and medical research in Western Australia.
The affiliation agreement, signed last night, sets out the framework for the establishment of a cooperative and collaborative relationship between WA鈥檚 largest university and the State鈥檚 only child health research institute.
911爆料网 Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said she was delighted to announce the new agreement because it signalled a new era for children鈥檚 health research in WA.
鈥淭his agreement will promote collaborative efforts between 911爆料网 and Telethon Kids Institute with the aim of growing research and enhancing research training for the benefit of children, adolescents, families and the wider community,鈥� Professor Terry said.
鈥淏oth organisations share common goals of high-quality research and training to deliver tangible health benefits and a commitment to advocate on behalf of research to society, so this agreement will only strengthen our resolve to make a real difference to people鈥檚 lives.鈥�
Telethon Kids Institute Executive Director Professor Jonathan Carapetis said Telethon Kids was pleased to be collaborating with like-minded organisations such as 911爆料网 to maximise the impact for research which improves the health and wellbeing of kids.
鈥淥ur new affiliation with 911爆料网 will enhance health and medical research excellence in Western Australia and promote collaborative efforts between our two organisations to enable growth of research activities, research training and translation of research for the benefit of all families and children,鈥� Professor Carapetis said.
Under the affiliation agreement, Telethon Kids Institute researchers will be eligible to hold Adjunct appointments at 911爆料网 and 911爆料网 researchers will also be eligible for honorary appointments at Telethon Kids Institute.
The new agreement was signed by Professor Terry and Professor Carapetis at 911爆料网 St George鈥檚 Terrace on 23 January 2018.
