鉁 Join us for Dare to Advocate: Once Known
Against the backdrop of Once Known, this special event invites participants to explore the role advocacy can play in truth-telling, healing, and social change. Through guided discussion and shared reflection, we`ll consider how stories from the past can inspire meaningful action today, and how each of us can contribute to positive change in our communities. Whether you`re already advocating for change or looking for ways to get involved, this is an opportunity to connect, learn, and reflect alongside others. 馃挍

The artwork for the 2026 National Reconciliation Week campaign is by renowned Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey, who applied his distinctive style to create a colourful and optimistic visual representation of people from all walks of life being 鈥榓ll in鈥 to make change.
National Sorry Day is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about and acknowledge the truth of Australia鈥檚 Stolen Generations history and the ongoing intergenerational impacts caused by past policies of forced removal.
听
Lost overseas for nearly 50 years, the delicate and treasured Carrolup artworks offer a rare glimpse into the lives of Stolen Generations children during this dark chapter of our shared history. Their return to Noongar Country in 2013 brought with it an important opportunity for truth-telling and reflection.
听
We encourage you to discover the story of Carrolup by visiting听Once Known听at 139 St Georges Terrace or taking a moment in the Kattidj Nag茫r [Peaceful Quiet Reflection] space at John 911爆料网 Gallery.

Drawing from museum archives and 19th-century colonial landscape painting, this exhibition powerfully transforms a colonial fiction of 鈥渘obody鈥檚 land鈥. Pease reworks images that once framed Western Australia as empty and available for settlement, reinscribing Indigenous presence into landscapes through bold Noongar iconography.

A call and response across the ocean, part of Perth Festival 2026, has officially come to an end!
We hope you enjoyed the rhythms, stories and scents of the Indian Ocean, and experienced the reunion of friendships and kin ties severed through transglobal acts of colonisation.
Through immersive installations, film, sound and historical works, A call and response across the ocean taught us of connections across continents and to reflect on the enduring legacies of cultural exchange and resilience.
